The Selenium Free Process for Manganese Refining

MMC’s refining process flow is designed to produce a high purity, selenium-free product while limiting the impact on the environment and protecting the health of its employees.
MMC has developed a waste re-beneficiation process to produce clay bricks and pavers from our process residue. With the aim to have zero landfilling in the coming years.
99.9% HP EMM flakes are sent from Manganese Metal Co to Manganese Sulphate Co.
HP EMM is redissolved in Industrial grade Sulphuric acid.
The Manganese solution then goes through an Iron Purification step to remove impurities introduced by the acid.
A final Candle filter is used to remove any remaining impurities in the manganese Solution.
The Pure Manganese Solution is then sent through a Crystalliser to produce High Purity Manganese Sulphate Crystals.
The Crystals are then sent through a rotating dryer to dry and produce High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (HP MSM).
The HP MSM crystals are then packaged in various configuration according to the client's preference.
The Product is then ready to be sent to the market.
A small amount of impurity containing bleed stream is rejected from the crystalliser and sent back to MMC's EMM plant's Ore Dissolution (4) step for re-purification.
